2nd Black Breastfeeding Matters Walk

Soul Food for Your Baby (SFYB) is hosting the 2nd Black Breastfeeding Matters Walk on Saturday, August 28th, to raise awareness in South Los Angeles about the importance of Black breastfeeding. The walk coincides with Black Breastfeeding Week (August 25-31st) and Give 8/28, a day designated to support Black-led and Black-benefiting nonprofits.

We’re excited this year to actually walk together in person! We’re also excited to join with the South Los Angeles/South Bay African American Infant and Maternal Mortality Community Action Team (SLA/SB AAIMM CAT) in featuring their photo display #BreastChestfeedingWelcomedEverywhere. The photos will be carried as we walk the streets of Leimert Park, depicting heartwarming pictures of local Black parents nursing their infants.

Music, door prizes and refreshments will round out the event.
