Exploring Breastfeeding: Navigating the history, the nuances of seeking support and reclaiming the joy
This year, on Wednesday 30th August in Hammersmith, West London 10 -4pm, Mamas House will host our first in-person Black Breastfeeding Week Event ‘Exploring Breastfeeding: Navigating the history, the nuances of seeking support and reclaiming the joy.’ The workshop will allow for thoughts and feelings regarding previous breastfeeding journeys – successful or not – and all are encouraged to hold space within this culturally relevant, intergenerational workshop, as we delve into breastfeeding myths and misconceptions that have embedded themselves into breastfeeding history. We will also share the truths and the joys within the amazing process of lactation.
We are super excited to bring together as many lactation consultants, birthkeepers, breastfeeding counsellors, private midwives and more to show black families that support that looks like you is available.
Come along and experience:
– an intergenerational, thought provoking and engaging breastfeeding workshop for those who have, tried to or are currently breastfeeding or pumping
– free goody bags
– 1:1’s with black lactation consultants
– amazing antenatal and postnatal vendors
– lactation professionals, midwives and other perinatal specialists
– yummy treats and more
